Today, sporting legends and Topaz ambassadors Alan Quinlan and Fiona Coghlan joined Ballyhale Shamrocks and Kilkenny hurler Henry Shefflin and former Kildare and Sarsfields Newbridge footballer Dermot Earley at Lansdowne RFC to launch Cash for Clubs. Cash for Clubs is a community promotion, open to clubs of all types and sizes, no matter how big or small, and will see Topaz donate €200,000 to clubs across the island of Ireland.
Topaz recognises the vital role that clubs play in communities across the country, providing opportunities for people of all ages to learn new skills, socialise and be active. However, fundraising is often an issue, with clubs struggling to raise the cash to support the activities, services and facilities they provide. Topaz Cash for Clubs will allow clubs to harness the support of their members and the local community to generate much needed funds, with cash prizes of up to €10,000 on offer.
How it works:
Clubs can register at topaz.ie (ROI) or topazenergy.co.uk (NI) and, once registered, members of the club and customers in their community can start to collect stamps on campaign cards available from local Topaz stations. You’ll receive one stamp for once you spend €40 or £30 or more on fuel purchases and will need five stamps to complete your card. Once a club has collected 300 cards, they can send them to Topaz Cash for Clubs, Roselawn House, University Business Complex, National Technology Park, Limerick. Once the cards and club are verified, they will be entered into an ‘everyone-wins’ draw:
1st club drawn will win €10,000
10 clubs thereafter will win €5,000
140 clubs after this will receive €1,000
All clubs who’ve met the required criteria will receive €250
Main draw will be made the week following the promotion closing Sunday 10th of May
All clubs who return 300 filled voucher cards before the closing date of the promotion (10th of May 2015) will be entered into the main draw
Clubs will be notified directly once the draw has been made
Paul Candon Marketing and Corporate Services Director for Topaz, said: “With over 330 stations across the island of Ireland, Topaz plays a significant role within communities across the country, providing employment and investment in each of the 32 counties. Our newest initiative Cash for Clubs is further proof of our commitment to the localities we operate in, and will see the company donate up to €200,000 to clubs nationwide. The initiative is open to clubs of all types and sizes so, whether your local club is big or small, ballet or basketball, gymnastics or GAA, we encourage you to show your support and start collecting stamps at your local Topaz station today.”
The campaign closes on Sunday 10th of May.
