Company celebrates ‘Magnificent Seven’

Topaz was the big winner at Ireland’s Forecourt and Convenience Retailer Awards, claiming seven of the 15 titles on offer.

Topaz underlined its position as the country’s leading fuels and convenience retailer with a total of 31 of the 57 nominations.

Kilkelly Topaz Service Station, Kilkelly, Co. Mayo won the coveted Forecourt/Convenience Store of the Year (1,100 sq feet) while Topaz Kill in Co Kildare won the inaugural Green Store of the year award.

The awards, now in their eighth year, were presented at a gala reception held in the Clyde Court Hotel in Ballsbridge Dublin recently, hosted by TV 3 presenter Sinead Desmond.

Paul Candon, Marketing and Corporate Services Director at Topaz, said the company was delighted so many of its dealer sites had performed so well, especially given the high standards of the hundreds of entrants.

“This is a great achievement for everyone involved, and we are particularly grateful to our dealers and staff throughout the country. Enhancing the customer experience is the key to building up a business and thanks to their professionalism and dedication that’s what Topaz is doing and will continue to do at over 330 sites across the island of Ireland.

Winning awards and receiving so many nominations underlines our position as the industry leader in this country” Candon said.

The IFCR Awards are designed to reward professionalism and entrepreneurial spirit, acknowledge innovation and commitment and at the same time help to raise industry standards.
