Topaz Energy Group Limited (“Topaz”) Privacy Statement

Topaz respects your privacy. Personal details that you provide to us or supply during the process of applying for a fuel card, ordering oil, registering for a newsletter, answering a survey, filling in a form or downloading our mobile application will be held by Topaz in confidence and in compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements relating to the obtaining, retention, processing and use (including use for marketing purposes) of personal data.  We comply with the provisions of the Data Protection Acts 1988 and 2003 and S.I. No. 336/2011 and aim to maintain consistently high levels of best practice in our processing of personal data.

No personal information will be divulged to anyone or any organisation except Topaz with the following exceptions: We are obliged to disclose details of successful participants in the “Play or Park” Loyalty Game to our charity partner AWARE so that AWARE may comply with its statutory obligations in respect of the lottery licence. We will also disclose information to third parties who process information on our behalf in order to fulfil a service you have requested. For instance, if you order a product from us or sign up for a fuel card your information may be verified by a financial institution, and your email or postal address will be used to send you the product.  

We may use your personal details for the following purposes: to register you for our Loyalty Game at your own request; to set up an account; to contact our customers if we need to communicate with them regarding their accounts or to verify bank/credit card details; to contact our customers in order to perform market research; to perform profiling of shoppers’ behaviour in order to try and meet our customers’ needs and to improve the goods and services which we offer.  Unless you indicate otherwise, we would like to contact you with details of offers and information about products and services which we believe would be of interest to you.

No personal information is revealed to Topaz for general web browsing, although certain statistical information is available to the company via our internet service provider through the use of cookies. A cookie is a small piece of information which a website stores through the web browser on your PC that it can later retrieve when you log back on to the website.  This information may include the logical address of the server you are using, the top level domain name from which you access the internet (for example .ie, .com, .org), the type of browser you are using, the date and time you access the site, the internet used to link to our site.

Some of the information detailed above is used to make our site more user friendly via creating summary statistics on the number of visitors to our site and what pages are accessed more frequently. Cookies will not be used to contact you for marketing purposes and should not compromise the security of your computer.

You have the right to request a copy of your data currently held by us, and to rectify or remove personal details. You also have the right to opt-out of the use of your information for marketing purposes at any time.
