Topaz, Ireland’s leading fuels brand comes to Donegal

County Donegal motorists will notice a big change when they go to fill up their cars at their local service station.  Topaz, Ireland’s largest retail fuels business has been busy transforming every Shell and Statoil service station in Donegal as part of its ambitious national re-branding programme.

The refitting and re-branding of the Donegal network is part of a €50million national investment programme and will see twenty one service stations, move from Statoil and Shell to the new and striking Topaz  brand. Topaz is an Irish owned company.
The retail dealer network employs over 400 people in Donegal.

In total, the re-branding programme will transform 350 service stations, over 40 home heating oil depots, and a logistics fleet of almost 300 vehicles.

Set up just three years ago, the company bought the Irish retail and commercial fuels businesses of Shell and Statoil in 2005 and 2006 respectively.  It is the largest fuels business in the country.  The re-branding of the Donegal network is the latest step for one of Ireland’s largest privately owned companies.

Richard Stones, Retail Dealer Area Manager for Topaz in Donegal, said “We are delighted to bring the national re-branding road-show to Donegal.  We have had 4 crews of 20 men working on transforming every site in the county.  We aim to be much more than just a fuel retailer and hope to increase our service to customers by offering them a greater product choice and excellent customer service. All Topaz and Statoil Fuel Cards will continue to be accepted at all of our sites during the changeover.”
