At Ireland’s Forecourt and Convenience Retailer Awards, which were held last week in Dublin, Topaz sites from across the country came up trumps in six of their nominated categories. Topaz, Ireland’s leading fuels and convenience retailer, was nominated in a spectacular 11 categories, out of a total 13.
Topaz Newlands Cross came top of its class, collecting two awards, as did Topaz Mountain Top Letterkenny. Topaz Citywest was also a winner, along with the Topaz Dealer Plus initiative. Meanwhile, several other sites claimed Runner Up positions, including Topaz Mountain Top Letterkenny, Topaz Macs Place Mallow, Topaz Casey’s Quickstop Castlebar, Topaz Centra Monaghan, Topaz Doyles Londis Gorey, Topaz Newlands Cross, Topaz Corrib Oil Castlebar and the Topaz Project Cheers.
The store at Mountain Top Letterkenny, Co. Donegal won for Best Use of Category Management, as well as being awarded the Best Deli. This store also got the Runner Up prize for Best Food to Go and was joint Runner Up for Best Forecourt (up to 1100sq ft.). The other Runner Up in this category was Topaz Macs Place, in Mallow, Co, Cork, while Topaz Doyle’s Londis Gorey was the Runner Up in the Best Deli section.
Newlands Cross station, in Dublin, was honoured as the Best Newcomer, and consolidated this win with also being awarded Forecourt of the Year. This location was recognised too as Runner Up with Best Forecourt facilities, and a joint Runner Up for providing Best Customer Service. Their companion in this category was Topaz Corrib Oil Castlebar. Another Topaz station, Topaz Centra Monaghan, was also the Runner Up in Best Newcomer category.
A second Dublin station was awarded the accolade for Best Forecourt up to 1100sq ft., with Topaz Citywest recognised for the fine forecourt and facilities available to customers. Moving West, Topaz Casey’s Quickstop Castlebar, in Co. Mayo, was named as Runner Up in the Best Forecourt over 1100sq ft.
Topaz was also the recipient of two awards for initiatives that were run through the company. The company were chosen as Winners for the Bet Oil Company Initiative for their Topaz Dealer Plus programme, and came Runner Up in the Training Award division for Topaz Project Cheers.
The awards this year attracted 1,750 entries, and comprised of 13 categories.
The winning stores each received a brass plaque for the store and a specially commissioned crystal trophy. The prestigious awards were presented at a gala reception held in the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin and hosted by Lorraine Keane.
